Creative Process

Copper foil have been hand cut into fish shapes, arranged onto a piece of clear glass and capped with strips of clear glass. Small pieces of clear iridescent glass have been arranged on a this base to make the design. The piece is then fired in my kiln to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and becomes a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece. Each time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed to give it durability and strength. The finished piece has then been carefully mounted onto a brushed aluminium panel and is ready to hang. The shiny metal surface reflects light back onto the glass making a stunning piece.

Size Details

The glass piece measures approximately 10cm x 10cm and the aluminium sheet measures approximately 20cm X 20cm square.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and then carefully packed and sent by ‘signed for’ Royal Mail using only recycled, biodegradable or paper packaging.
