1982 large collectable 50p fifty pence coin in a good circulated condition
1982 Large 50p Fifty Pence Coin
The Larger 50p coins were minted between 1969 and 1997 before being replaced with the smaller ones that we are used to seeing now. The 50p replaced the ten shilling note when the UK went to decimisation in 1971. All of these coins feature the english lion on the reverse and Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with the exception of the 1973, 1992 and 1994 when they produced commemoritive coins.
Because these coins are no longer in circulation, they are seen as collectible coins and are sought after by coin collectors all over the world. They also make great birthday gifts for people born in the year that the coin was minted. For some people, holding a coin from their past can bring back memories and often leads to a conversation about what they would have purchased with the coin.
So if you are adding to your collection, or wanting a gift that really means something, a coin is a great option.
