Creative Process

The piece has been made using Art Glass made for fusing in a kiln. 
Layers of hand cut glass have been arranged in a circle and fused in the kiln to form the base. Fish are then cut and had painted with 9 carat gold lustre before being placed on the base and returned to the kiln for a second firing. For both kiln firings the heat is set to just the right temperature so that the glass only just starts to melt and becomes a smooth raised contour to the surface making a very tactile piece.
