Blue sculpted vase/candle shade with gold detailing

This beautiful hand-crafted fused glass Vase is great for a small posy of flowers or a perfect shade for your Candles and looks great on a window sill, mantel piece or as a table centrepiece.  The design is embellished with 9 carat gold lustre.

This is handmade and one of a kind so the one you see in the picture is the one you will receive.

Creative Process

The piece has been constructed on a circular base using small pieces of coloured glass of varying thickness. It is then fired in a kiln to just the temperature to leave a raised contour in the design. In the next stage the gold lustre design is added. On a second and final firing the piece is placed on a narrow circular mould around which the glass can drape forming the distinctive asymmetrical shape which looks different from every angle. Each firing process can take up to 24 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength.

As these are hand made and draped in the kiln they are not symmetrical but unique one of a kind pieces!

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully wrapped inside a box with tissue paper packing. The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by ‘Tracked 48’ Royal Mail.
