DESCRIPTION

This beautiful hand-crafted fused Glass Magnolia Leaf Dish makes a great Art Glass centrepiece, a unique gift and is one of a kind!

CREATIVE PROCESS

The piece has been made using glass powders and frits (tiny pieces of glass). The various colours are arranged inside a mold. The piece is then fired in the kiln until it is completely melted and forms the shape and contours of the leaf.  On a second firing the glass is placed on a ceramic mold which slumps the flat piece into a shallow round dish. Each firing process can take up to 14 hours to complete and every time the glass is fired it is cooled slowly and annealed for long enough to give it durability and strength.

To finish the piece off, clear bumpers are placed on the base of the bowl so that it doesn't scratch the surface on which its placed and also to ensure that it doesn't rock. These can be easily removed if preferred.

Completely Food safe, hand washing the dish is recommended.

The bowl measures approximately 32cm in length x 11cm wide at the widest point x 3cm tall at the highest point.

Every item in the shop is handmade by me and this item is carefully packed.  The outer postage box will be packed with recycled, biodegradable or paper packing and sent by Tracked 48 Royal Mail.
